Another exciting wind farm project for MENCK

06-02-06

MENCK is proud to announce that it has been awarded a pile driving installation subcontract by MT Højgaard A/S in December 2005 for Seascape Energy's Burbo Bank wind farm.

Twenty five piles with an outer diameter of 4.75m will be installed in the Liverpool Bay in 2Q 2006, approx. 6.5km off the coast.

For this challenging project in tough soil conditions, an MHU 800S hammer (delivering 800 kJ above water) will be equipped with MENCK's split pile sleeve that is designed for piles with an outer diameter of up to 5.2m. Some piles may have to be installed using the successful drive-drill-drive method due to extreme soil conditions. Due to the relatively high tidal range, partial underwater pile driving may also be required.

MENCK is looking forward to laying the foundation of yet another offshore wind farm.
