MENCK installed piles with diameters larger than 3 metres as early as 1990.

• Offshore wind farm Samsø, Denmark, 4.5m steel monopiles, the largest piles driven at that time
• Offshore wind farm Utgrunden, Sweden, 4.2m steel monopiles, the first offshore wind farm in Sweden
• Offshore wind farm North Hoyle, Wales, UK, 30 steel monopiles 4.0m installed with an optimized drive-drill-drive (3D) technique, piles installed through the upper layer of alternating sand and clay and finnally in bed rock layer of sandstone/mudstone

Future project will need even larger piles to be installed. MENCK’s piling equipment is already well prepared for piles beyond 6 metres in diameter.
